Sun of Sound Piano Concert at Morningstar Senior Living – A Heartfelt Afternoon of Music

On December 27th, 2025, Sun of Sound had the honor of presenting a piano concert at Morningstar Senior Living at River Oaks in Houston. It was a truly unforgettable afternoon filled with music, warmth, and genuine connection.

Our young pianists delivered beautiful and expressive performances that deeply moved the audience. From the very first piece to the final notes, the residents were fully engaged—listening attentively, smiling, and responding with heartfelt applause. Many shared that this was one of the most enjoyable and meaningful activities they had ever experienced at their community.

The Morningstar team expressed sincere appreciation for the quality of the performances and the thoughtfulness behind the program, and warmly welcomed Sun of Sound to return for future concerts. Their encouragement and support meant so much to our students and families.

Sun of Sound is a Houston-based nonprofit piano performance group composed primarily of students from Dr. Yan Shen's Piano Studio. Our mission is to bring free live music to senior living communities, hospitals, and local organizations. Through music, we hope to create moments of joy, comfort, and human connection—especially for those who may not have regular access to live performances.

This concert was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. Music has the power to cross generations, lift spirits, and bring people together in the most genuine way.
